History of Indian handicraft dates back to 3000 B.C References of Handicraft were found in Indus Valley Civilization (3000 B.C - 1700 B.C.). Handmade objects were mainly for day to day use. Later, needs for decoration, beauty and aesthetic appeal gave rise to what we call handicraft today. Metal and clay were main ingredients.
